I started eating meat about a year ago after being vegan for over a decade and I’ve never felt better! I still love vegan food but it’s healthier to have a balanced diet of meat and veggies

See how East Tennessee got tamales as a local tradition, We have little old White ladies making tamales for church socials, The tradition started early last century, when a small group of Mexicans moved to town, and started making them for sale. Locals loved them, especially the working men, who got to have these neat packages of food, long before fast food take-out was a thing. My late husband and I actually bought the masa and corn husks, then never got around to making them. The flour is still in the freezer, and the husks had to be tossed, as bugs got into them. We used to get Vegan tamales from a Mexican lady who had a restaurant at a local flea market, but since the main building burnt, they closed it all down. We would order a dozen, pay, and pick them up the next weekend, keeping them frozen till we were ready to have them as part of a meal.haven't had one since sometime before he died, going on 8 years in April. Maybe I will go get some husks, and try it. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
